The past few years have tested all of us in ways we never imagined. For me, the battle with COVID wasn’t just a one-time event—it was a long, grueling journey that taught me the limits of medicine, the power of breath, and the resilience of the human spirit.

I tested positive four times. Yes, four. And each time, the struggle felt deeper, darker, and more overwhelming than the last.

In the beginning, when I first tested positive, I actually felt quite healthy for a few weeks. It seemed manageable. But when I informed my family doctor, he advised taking a precautionary one-week course of allopathic medicine—just to be safe.

What followed was unexpected and frightening. That one week of medication completely crashed my immune system. I became physically weak and mentally shattered. I lost the strength to even continue my daily SKY (Sudarshan Kriya Yoga) breathing practices that had always grounded me.

The nights were the hardest. I would go to sleep with the fear that I might not wake up the next day. Isolated from my family, keeping everyone at a distance to protect them, was incredibly painful. It felt like living in a cage with no end in sight.

In that mental state, I even wrote farewell letters, updated all my important accounts, and listed passwords and emergency contacts in a diary—just in case. I wanted to ensure that if I didn’t survive, my loved ones wouldn’t be left in confusion or pain.

In desperation, I turned to homeopathy, guided by a caring family friend. It helped stabilize me physically and mentally, bringing me some relief over a month. But despite the progress, full recovery remained out of reach.

Finally, I made a bold choice. I stopped all medications, and turned entirely to Ayurvedic soups, herbal kashayams, and most importantly, my breath.

I returned to SKY breathing practices—this time, with complete faith and dedication.

And that’s when everything changed.

Within a short span, I began to experience renewed energy, mental clarity, and a deep inner peace that no external treatment had provided. It felt as if my body had been waiting for me to trust it again—to align with its own healing power. And the breath was the key.

What I Learned

  • Medicines—whether English, Ayurvedic, or Homeopathic—have their place, but they alone were not enough in my case.

  • The breath is truly powerful. When everything else failed, SKY breathing practices brought me back to life.

  • Listening to your body is essential. Sometimes, healing doesn’t come from outside—it comes from within.

  • Never take the small things—like breathing, movement, and presence—for granted.
